Most dentistry is general dentistry. When you need more, we would rather you had it here, from people we work alongside every week, than be sent across London. Dr Priti Acharya, our specialist orthodontist, is a Consultant in Orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Hospital and treats children and adults at Ethicare on Saturdays. Dr Yvonne Szyszko, our specialist in oral surgery, lectures and examines at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and handles difficult extractions, wisdom teeth, bone grafts and sinus lifts, with IV sedation for nervous patients.
Dr Ahmed Ali carries out root canal treatment under a dental microscope on every case, including the teeth other practices would give up on, and accepts referrals from other dentists. Gum disease that does not respond to our own protocol is treated by our periodontal consultant. Dr Glafcos Tombolis, who plans and places every implant himself, works with Dr Yvonne where bone needs building first.
The same rules apply here as everywhere else at Ethicare: a written quote before treatment, the conservative option first, and an honest account of the risks and the alternatives.

Do I need a referral to see a specialist orthodontist or oral surgeon at Ethicare?
No. You can book an orthodontic consultation with Dr Priti Acharya, or an assessment for oral surgery with Dr Yvonne Szyszko, directly. Dentists can also refer patients to us.
Who carries out root canal treatment?
Dr Ahmed Ali, who holds an MSc in clinical endodontics and the MEndo from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He works under a dental microscope on every case and accepts referrals from other dentists.
Can I be sedated for treatment?
Yes. Dr Yvonne Szyszko is trained in sedation, and IV sedation is available for oral surgery, for nervous patients and for long or complex procedures.
How much does specialist treatment cost?
An orthodontic consultation is £160, root canal treatment starts from £850, and oral surgery and periodontal treatment are priced after assessment. Every fee is quoted in writing before treatment.
