Who makes my denture?
Dr Glafcos Tombolis takes the impressions and records, fits and adjusts the denture. It is made by a dental laboratory to his prescription.
Can I pay monthly?
Yes. 0% finance through Tabeo is available on treatment with Dr Glafcos, over 3, 6, 10 or 12 months, subject to status.
How long does it take?
Usually four or five appointments over a few weeks: impressions, bite records, a try-in you can see and approve, the fitting, and an adjustment visit.
Not the false teeth of yesteryear.
Dentures replace several missing teeth, or all of them, without surgery and at a fraction of the cost of multiple implants. The materials have moved on: a well-made denture is secure, comfortable and passes for real teeth. The compromise is that it is removable, and some patients find a denture never feels quite as secure as they would like.
Valplast flexible dentures contain no metal and are thin, light and very comfortable. Cobalt chrome dentures are strong, thin and precise on a metal frame, with clasps that hold onto your remaining teeth. Acrylic dentures are the most affordable, easy to adjust and can be strengthened with a metal mesh, though they feel bulkier.

Denture, bridge or implant?
For a single missing tooth, an implant or a bridge is usually the better answer. Where several teeth are missing, a denture is often the practical choice, and if it feels loose, two or more implants can be used to hold it firmly in place. Can I eat with dentures in?
Yes. It feels strange at first, particularly with a complete denture, but you soon get used to it. Start with softer foods and work up to eating normally.
How do I care for my dentures?
Clean them with a toothbrush or denture brush and clean your gums and any remaining teeth too. Take them out at night and keep them in water or denture fluid so they do not dry out. We give you detailed advice at your fitting.
Will dentures affect my speech?
You will probably notice some change at first. Practise speaking aloud, and before long you will be used to the denture and speaking clearly.
What can I do if my dentures feel loose?
Dental implants can hold a denture firmly in place. The implants are anchored in your jawbone and the denture clips onto them. Dr Glafcos places the implants and can tell you whether it would suit you.
