Orthodontics involves moving the teeth to new positions using a variety of techniques. Treatment can be carried out on both children and adults, for both dental health and cosmetic reasons. At your first visit, Dr Acharya, our orthodontist, will carry out an initial assessment. She will find out what your concerns are, carry out a thorough clinical examination and formulate a tailor made plan specific to your needs, preferences and requirements.
If you have Invisalign treatment or orthodontic treatment with braces at Ethicare Dental we will carry out home whitening and provide you with one week’s worth of home whitening gel completely free of charge.
At Ethicare Dental we have a specialist orthodontist who not only sees patients from the Putney and Wandsworth area but also from all over London. Dr Acharya works Saturdays at Ethicare Dental and deals with our more complex orthodontic cases.

Priti is a Consultant in Orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Hospital, UCLH and an honorary lecturer at University College London. She treats patients with complex orthodontic needs requiring multi-specialist care and trains orthodontic specialists.
She treats patients of all ages and uses a full complement of orthodontic appliances including Invisalign, fixed ceramic braces, lingual braces, removable and functional braces. She is a Gold II Invisalign provider, and loves helping her patients achieve their perfect smiles.
A variety of techniques are employed for orthodontic treatment at Ethicare Dental. These include fixed braces, where the brackets can be of the standard metallic type or tooth coloured, which are obviously far more cosmetic. There are various systems available which can be employed within fixed appliance therapy. The 3M Clarity system is Dr Acharya’s preferred fixed appliance system using both the 3M metal victory series or 3M Clarity Advanced ceramic system. Dr Acharya is also an Invisalign certified dentist, able to transform smiles using highly aesthetic virtually invisible aligners.

Orthodontic treatment shouldn’t be painful, but you may feel some discomfort at some points during your teeth straightening journey. Each time your braces are adjusted or tightened, or you start wearing the next aligner in your series, you will likely feel pressure and discomfort, but this will be temporary and can be managed using over the counter painkillers such as paracetamol.
Yes, in order to protect and maintain your oral health during treatment, we recommend you still visit your dentist for regular check up appointments. They will also be able to keep an eye on your teeth and gums, and ensure they remain clean and healthy.
